When We Meet

Preschool Pathways is designed to be a two-year program leading up to kindergarten. The younger class attends in the morning, and the older class attends in the afternoon. Because a large percentage of our students are headed for The Classical Academy, we match our age cutoff to theirs, requiring that children turn 3 before June 1st of the year they start the morning class. If your child’s birthday is later in the summer, they’ll start their first year right after they’ve turned 4.

Meeting Days

Your child will meet twice per week, either on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. The time of day they meet is determined by age (3-4 year olds in the morning, 4-5 year olds in the afternoon). You can choose if you'd prefer a Monday/ Wednesday or a Tuesday/ Thursday class (subject to availability).

Teacher Time

Teacher Time is an optional weekly meeting in which parents can connect with their child's teachers. Once a week (Tuesday or Wednesday, pending your class schedule), each class's lead or assistant teacher with circle up with parents and give them insight into what the class has been working on that week. This is a great opportunity to get to know the teachers (and other parents!), hear about some of the incredible curriculum activities, and even glean some parenting tips and philosophies from our experienced staff members.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Unlike the traditional "open door" model common at many preschools, Preschool Pathways uses a structured drop off and pickup schedule. The doors to the building will open 10 minutes before the start time (listed above), at which time parents will line up in the entrance area of the building. The more formal greeting of each child at the door gives teachers a consistent opportunity to teach social skills like the importance of making eye contact, and gives parents the opportunity to get to know each other in the minutes leading up to drop-off.
